Metro services disrupted in Kolkata as woman jumps on the rail

Train services remained disrupted between Mahanayak Uttam Kumar and Kabi Nazrul stations from 5.36 pm to 5.58 pm following this incident.

Train services between Mahanayak Uttam Kumar (Tollygunj) and Kabi Nazrul station were disrupted for more than 20 minutes after a woman attempted to commit suicide at Netaji station this evening, Metro Railway sources said.

They said the incident took place around 5.36 pm when the woman jumped before an approaching train.

She, however, fell beside the railway track and escaped with minor injuries. The woman has been hospitalised.

Train services remained disrupted between Mahanayak Uttam Kumar and Kabi Nazrul stations from 5.36 pm to 5.58 pm following this incident.

Normal services was maintained during this period between Mahanayak Uttam Kumar and Dum Dum stations, sources said.
