Met dept forecasts light to moderate rain in the city

It is not monsoon yet, but it is advisable to carry an umbrella with you when you step out of your home or office on Tuesday. This will save you from being drenched by the moderate rainfall that is expected to lash the city on Tuesday.

The meteorological department in Ahmedabad has forecasted moderate to light rain in some areas of Ahmedabad.  Light rainfall was reported in isolated places over Saurashtra and south Gujarat region.

Weather was mainly dry over the rest of the region, said the met department. "On Sunday, temperatures rose in parts of Saurashtra and surrounding regions in the night. The temperatures were above normal over the region," said the met department. While nights in city are cold, days are becoming increasingly warm.

On Monday, the maximum temperature in Ahmedabad was 35 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature was 22 degree Celsius.

On Tuesday, the met department has forecasted that the minimum temperature could be around 18 degree Celsius.

Naliya in Kutch recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 14 degree Celsius in the state. The met department has also forecasts light to moderate rain and thundershowers at isolated places in all districts of Gujarat and in Diu, Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli.
