Mentally challenged girl raped in Ghatlodia

Ghatlodia resident Gauri Chauhan, in her complaint with Sola police station on Monday said that her mentally-challenged daughter was raped by one Mahesh Thakor on April 14.

According to the complaint, Thakor took advantage of the girl's mental condition and raped her in his autorickshaw at an undisclosed location.

Chauhan, in her complaint, told police that Thakor lives in Memnagar and abducted her daughter Meena (name changed) when she was playing near her house. Gauri learnt about the rape after she came home after work. She promptly reported the matter to Sola police.

Meena's case has been forwarded to SC/ST cell of city police for further action. Officials are now searching for Thakor, who has been absconding after the incident.
