Armed maoists assaulted five labourers and burnt two road construction machines of a private firm at Kanauda village in Bihar's Aurangabad district late last night, police said today.
Over 25 rebels raided the village and beat up the labourers injuring them.
The Maoists, who had earlier demanded money from the owner of the company, also burnt its machines used in construction of road under Prime Minister Gramin Sadak Yojna besides some furniture at the work site, the police said.
The injured workers were rushed to hospital and a combing operation was launched to apprehend the ultras, the police added.
