Maoists blast rail line in Bihar

Around 50 ultras stormed into the southern cabin of Nadaul station at around 2am, disconnected telephones and then detonated dynamites to blow up the line.

Armed Maoists blasted railway track near Nadaul station in Jehanabad district of Bihar in the early hours today disrupting railway traffic on the Patna-Jehanabad-Gaya section for several hours.

Around 50 ultras stormed into the southern cabin of the station at around 2am, asked the railway employees to vacate it, disconnected telephones and then detonated dynamites to blow up the line, police  said.

Raids were on in the area to apprehend the Maoists, the police said.

They left a pamphlet on the spot demanding immediate production of their leader Divendu Kumar Singh alias Subodh alias Anand in  a court.

Subodh was arrested by the special task force of Bihar police here on Friday. Rupees 18 lakh was seized from his possession, the police said.
