Dipak Sadhu, president of city-based human rights trust began an indefinite hunger strike from Monday morning demanding action against moneylenders who charge high interest rate from their customers. Sadhu began his hunger strike at Indulal Yagnik Hall near Amber talkies, Bapunagar.
Talking to
DNA Sadhu said the moneylenders who charged high interest from people are a curse on the society. "Moreover, there is a nefarious racket involving moneylenders, bootleggers and even the police," Sadhu said. He said it has been found that the money which the moneylenders give on credit to people come from police and bootleggers. Sadhu further said that his hunger strike was not against a particular person but to create awareness about the issue.
