Man jumps to death from Delhi metro station

The incident was reported from Paschim Vihar Metro station at around 7.30 am and the deceased has been identified as Naresh, an employee of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL).

A 57-year-old government employee jumped to death from a metro station in west Delhi this morning, police said today.

The incident was reported from Paschim Vihar Metro station at around 7.30 am and the deceased has been identified as Naresh, an employee of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL).

He had entered the station at 7.18 am and soon jumped to death.

"He did not board any train. A PCR van rushed him to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead," a senior police officer said.

A suicide note was recovered from his pocket but in the note, he did not explain why he took the extreme step.

Naresh lived in his Paschim Vihar residence along with his wife and two sons.
