Man held for duping cellphone seller in Ahmedabad

The Vastrapur police claimed to have caught a man who allegedly duped a mobile store owner of three expensive cell phones, worth Rs94,000.

The police have identified the culprit as Alpesh alias Kalpesh Prajapati, a resident of Ambika Anandmayee society in Chandlodia.

Police sources said that Alpesh has duped one Anil Prajapati, employed with Essar Mobile Stores, at CG road last Friday.

Anil had lodged a complaint stating that Alpesh bought a cell phone worth Rs26,000 two days back. But last Friday, Alpesh called Anil, saying that his boss wanted to buy three expensive cell phones.

Cops said that Anil followed the instructions of the accused and reached Indraprasth tower with three cell phones (Apple, Blackberry and Nokia).

The accused vanished with the phones, saying that he would be back with money. The police managed to hunt him down with the help of the bill of the cellphones.
