The Delhi police on Saturday arrested a 31-year-old man for allegedly murdering his NRI wife.

Sumit Handa, a business development manager with a travel firm, strangulated and stabbed his wife, Niranjani, to death on October 29, dumped her body and set it on fire. Though Sumit tried diverting police attention by filing a complaint stating that his wife had eloped, he found himself in the police net after intense probe.
Niranjani, 27, was a South African passport holder.

Police claimed that during interrogation, Handa had admitted to have killed his wife using a knife and laptop charger after an altercation.

“He then kept her body in the bathroom and squeezed it in a trolley bag and other stuff in another bag and asked one of his colleagues to drop him in Rai in Haryana,” police said.
Handa carried the bag s 200 meters away from the road, dumped and burnt them.

“He waited for over 2 hours also collected some of the ashes in a polythene bag,” Chand said.
