Major Archbishop Vithayathil better

Kochi: Major Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Church Varkey Cardinal Vithayathil, who was admitted to a private hospital on Monday following cardiac problems, was showing improvement.

The condition of the Archbishop, who is also the president of Catholic Bishops Conference of India (CBCI) has improved considerably and is 'better', doctors attending on him told PTI here.

The Archbishop was taken out of the ventilator this morning, they said.

An emergency angioplasty was done on him in the hospital.
