In a representation to the district administration, Dimapur LPG Dealers' Association yesterday threatened to close down shops while demanding adequate security measures at all gas agencies of the town.

"The gas agencies will have no option but to close down indefinitely with effect from tomorrow to safeguard the interest of distributors if the necessary security is not provided," they said in their complaint submitted to the deputy commissioner (DC).

The complaint signed by the owners of six gas agencies drew attention of the DC to the increasing cases of looting at gun-point.

The latest incident was on Monday when four armed miscreants looted Rs 1.94 lakh from KT Gas Agency in broad day light.
