Voicing concern over the impact of Dubai financial crisis on Indians working there, a CPI-M member in the Lok Sabha today demanded a comprehensive rehabilitation package to help those returning home because of the development.
  
Raising the issue during zero hour, MB Rajesh said the crisis would have its impact on the Indian economy in general and Kerala in particular.
   
He said there were two million Indians in Dubai and 60 per cent of them were engaged in blue collar jobs. They had contributed remittances worth 27 billion dollars to India.
   
The Zero Hour saw raising of several issues including inclusion of Bhojpuri language in the eighth schedule by Congress member Sanjay Nirupam.
  
Nirupam, a Shiv Sainik-turned-Congressman, said while 15 crore people in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have Bhojpuri as their mother tongue, there were 50 lakh Bhojpuri-speaking people in Mumbai.
   
Several top leaders including the first President Rajendra Prasad, former prime minister Chandra Shekhar as also veteran leader Kamalapati Tripathi had Bhojpuri as their mother tongue, he said.

Bocha Jhansi Lakshmi (Congress) raised the issue of continuance of the fast track courts beyond March next year saying that they have been effective in disposing a large number of cases in record time thereby reducing the backlog.
   
She wanted that the presiding officers of these courts be made permanent.

Revati Raman Singh (SP) raised the issue of health workers and said though UPA-I had promised to appoint them in villages, it was not fulfilled even after five years in power.

He said each such worker, named as 'Asha', should be paid Rs 500 per day and proper facilities provided to them.
  
Lal Singh (Congress) demanded morning flights from Jammu and Kashmir, saying there was a big demand.

Toofani Saroj (SP) said CPWD employees, dedicated for MPs' flats, were not attending to complaints regarding some problems related to apartments.

He said the employees least cared for the complaints as many of them had been there for 15-20 years and demanded that they should be transfered after few years.

Satpal Maharaj (Congress) demanded adequate facilities and security arrangements for the upcoming annual Kumbh mela in Uttarakhand.
