BJP leader LK Advani will kick off his anti-corruption yatra from Sitabdiara village in Bihar's Saran district on October 11 next.

Sitabdiara is the birth place of Jai Prakash Narayan who had led an agitation against corruption in 1974.

The date and place of Advani's rathyatra has been tentatively finalized as a mark of respect to Jai Prakash Narayan as the date happens to be the latter's birth anniversary and the place his native village, state unit BJP president CP Thakur told reporters in Patna.

Advani has planned to reignite the corruption issue on which the departed socialist leader had fought for in 1970s and united the non-Congress political class to unseat the Congress led by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi from power in 1977 parliamentary polls, he said.

Thakur said that the state unit BJP workers will take part in Advani's rath yatra to make it a successful campaign against corruption which, he said.

The state unit of BJP also denied that there was a race among Advani, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and other senior leaders as the prime ministerial candidate during 2014 parliamentary polls and said that it was for the party leadership to take a final call on the matter.
