LK Advani pays homage to Morarji Desai

Senior BJP leader LK Advani today paid tribute to Morarji Desai, the first non-Congress Prime Minister of the country, on the occasion of the late leader's 116th birth anniversary at his hometown here.

Desai's great-grandson Madhukeshwar had invited Advani here.

"Morarji Desai lived a very simple life even after being a Prime Minister. People of the country need to learn how to live simply from Desai," said the BJP leader, who was a part of Desai's cabinet in the Janata government.

Advani refused to answer any question on the Uttar Pradesh election on this occasion, saying that he had come to pay homage to Desai and would speak only about him.
