A Mumbai-bound Kingfisher Airlines aircraft with 142 passengers and nine crew on-board was involved in a minor incident, after the emergency slide of the aircraft opened outward.

All passengers are safe and they de-planed normally, a Kingfisher Airlines spokesperson said.

The airline's flight safety team is investigating the incident under the supervision of the directorate general of civil aviation, the airline said.

The incident occurred this morning when Kingfisher Airlines flight IT-304 from Delhi landed at the city airport here, the spokesperson said.

"After the aircraft came to a halt at its designated parking bay, the commander of the aircraft asked the crew to disarm all doors. While all other doors disarmed normally, it appears that the left rear door did not get fully disarmed and consequently the escape (emergency) slide got deployed," the spokesperson said.

There has been no damage to the either the aircraft, equipment or any personnel and the passengers de-planed normally from the forward exit via the aerobridge, he said.

The maintenance crew replaced the escape slide and the aircraft has been pressed back into service, the spokesperson said.
