Asserting that Kashmir was an integral part of the country, National Conference leader and Union minister Farooq Abdullah has said that Jammu and Kashmir was crown of India and would remain so.

"It has never been questioned whether Kashmir is part of India or not. It is the crown of India and it will remain crown of India whatever happens," he said at an award function here last night.

He said India was able to defeat attempts made by Pakistan to create trouble by sending terrorists. Pakistan wants to keep on hammering, but it was not successful "that is the greatness of our army and police."

"Now the LeT and others are threatening us for acting against them. We have to act against all those who come to destroy our life," Abdullah, a former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, said.

Referring to the terror attacks in Pakistan, Abdullah said what was presently happening in the neighbouring nation was a reflection of the "ill deeds" meted out to India.

"I see today exactly what they did to us is happening to them and I as an Indian I am not happy, because I would not want them to go through the same tragedies that they put us through," he said.

"What you sow so shall you reap, and that is what is happening to them today. One does not know, whether that nation will survive or not," he said.

Earlier, he presented the Malayalam television channel Asiannet's inaugural 'Life Time Achievement Award' to Leela Group chairman Captain CP Krishnan Nair.
