Kasab's effigy replaces Ravana's at Dussehra fest in Indore

A 100-feet tall effigy of dreaded terrorist Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab weighing nearly 3,500 kg was set afire instead of  the traditional Ravana's effigy on the occasion of Vijayadashmi (Dussehra) festival here yesterday.

The decision to burn the effigy of Kasab, instead of Ravana's, is in view of the wide resentment among the people against him for killing large number of innocent people in Mumbai terror attack in November 2008, Khatiwala Tank Area's, Dussehra Utsav Samiti said.

Large number of people were gathered on the occasion to witness the event. Though Kasab killed a number of innocent lives, his effigy which was also carrying a replica of AK-47 rifle, fell within one-and-a-half minutes of being set on fire.
