Karunakaran celebrates 91st birthday

Veteran Congress leader and former chief minister K Karunakaran on Saturday celebrated  his 91st birthday according to the Malayalam calendar offering worship at the famous Sreekrishna temple here. The four-time chief minister who has had a chequered career in politics since the days of the freedom struggle,was greeted by his supporters and well-wishers.
  
When reporters sought his comments on reports that he was soon going to be appointed as Governor in a southern state, he said "I will let you know as soon as I get any information on that." A major power centre of the Congress in Kerala for long,he had served as union minister briefly in PV Narasimha Rao government.
