Kannada film director attempts suicide

Well-known Kannada film director and producer Sai Prakash today allegedly attempted to commit suicide by consuming sleeping tablets.

Sai Prakash, known for producing films with sentimental themes, was rushed to a private hospital by his son and is out of danger, hospital sources said.

Sai Prakash had been in financial trouble after one of his films failed at the box office, sources close to him said.

Popular hero Shivarajkumar, who had played a lead role in "Devararu Kotta Thangi" produced by Sai Prakash, Karnataka
Film Chambers President Jayamala and several others from the
Kannada film industry rushed to the hospital to enquire about
his health.

Sai Prakash has produced about ten films.
