Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy today demanded Union home minister P Chidambaram's resignation following the death of more than 70 CRPF personnel in a Maoist ambush in Chattisgarh, saying just a ''sorry'' from Chidambaram won't do.
Saying Chidambaram had replaced Shivraj Patil as home minister in the wake of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, Swamy
described today's attack as a ''gross lapse''' by Chidambaram.
''I demand that Chidambaram atone by resigning forthwith from the Cabinet for this gross lapse which enabled a terrorist organisation to kill so many of our Jawans. If he does not do so, the prime minister must sack him,'' he said in a statement here.
