Jammu bandh to protest tax on community kitchens during yatra

'The Shri Ram Sena also demands exemption of people engaged in running these kitchens from paying security deposits,' Shri Ram Sena (SRS) president Rajiv Mahajan said.

A local religious outfit today gave a call for a Jammu bandh on June 12 to protest imposition of toll tax on community kitchens held during the annual pilgrimage to Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas.
       
"We have called for Jammu bandh here on June 12 and will hold demonstrations to demand exemption of community kitchens held during the Amarnath yatra from toll tax imposed by J&K government", Shri Ram Sena (SRS) president Rajiv Mahajan told reporters here today.
       
The SRS also demands exemption of people engaged in running these kitchens from paying security deposits, he said and appealed to the general public, trade, transport and other organisations to support the bandh wholeheartedly to make it successful.
           
The Amarnath yatra is to begin on July one this year.
