Jammu apes Delhi: Minor raped in SUV

A class IX student was allegedly kidnapped and raped by two men in a moving SUV at Bari Brahmana locality of Samba district sending shock waves across the winter capital.

Police have arrested two accused while the hunt is on to nab their accomplice who was involved in the kidnapping. Police said 15-year-old girl had gone missing after she left for school on February 23 prompting her parents to lodge a police complaint. Police found the girl two days later.

“The girl said she was raped by two of the three men traveling in the vehicle. We immediately swung into action and arrested two of them. However, their third accomplice is still missing”, said a police officer.

Police have conducted the medical examination of the minor. “All the boys are in the age group of 21 and 22 years who have completed their graduation. “They had kept the girl for two days in Jammu and later abandoned her near Sainik Colony”, police said.

The rape of a minor girl has sent shock waves across the Jammu which is witnessing heightening security as budget session is on.
