Jammu and Kashmir government is constructing stadiums and giving coaching to youth in its effort to provide a boost to sports activities in the state, chief minister Omar Abdullah said today.

Sports provide ample opportunities to youth from different areas and cultures to mingle with each other, share views and develop lifetime relations, he said, adding the government is taking steps to develop sports activities by constructing stadiums and playgrounds, besides providing coaching to the youth.

"Participation in sports activities has now become an integral part of studies and without these activities education is not considered complete," Abdullah emphasised as he inaugurated 22nd National sub-junior Kabaddi Championship at MAM Stadium here.

He said government would extend every help to the youth welfare and sports department and other concerned organisations to bring up talents in sports at national and international level.
