Jaganmohan Reddy calls off fast, attacks Congress, TDP

YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy today criticised both the TDP and the Congress over welfare of farmers before calling off his 48-hour-long fast.

Citing the case of Punjab government, which purchased 94% of food grains from farmers in that state and sold it to the Food Corporate of India, he said, "The Andhra Pradesh government may also export paddy with permission of the Centre."

The Kadapa MP-elect also blasted former chief minister N Chandra Babu Naidu who he said had ridiculed free supply of electricity to the farmers and spoken ill of agriculture.

Jagan also came down heavily on the central government for hiking price of petrol for the eight time in one year. Meanwhile, a spokesperson of Jagan said that 18 MLAs called on him and pledged their support.
