Is someone close to Vishwa Patel responsible for the 11-year-old's going missing? Police officials who have handled several such cases of children going missing believe so.

"Had it been a kidnap for ransom the parents would have by now received a ransom call. But as that has not happened there could only be two possibilities either the child went away on her own or she was taken by someone who had vendetta against her family," said a cop. The cop said it would be very difficult for a child like Vishwa, who has been brought up in a protected environment to survive on her own for so long. "Had that been the case she would have been found by now. So that leaves us with the third possibility that she was taken by someone who may have had a vendetta against her family," said the cop.

Sources said the police have inspected the DVD of the marriage function following which the child went missing. "They did not see any outsider who could not be accounted for, so it is more likely that it could be an insider's job," said a cop associated with the
investigation.
Meanwhile, some 200 people joined the parents of the missing girl in a candle light march from their home on Friday. The 1-km march also saw a mass prayer being held for the safety of Vishwa who went missing from her home. Earlier father of the child, Suresh Patel along with human rights activist Sanjay Joshi had for a second time approached in-charge director general of police (DGP) Chitranjan Singh on Friday. Singh apprised them about the developments in the case.

"Other than the Ahmedabad city police, crime branch and CID crime has also been roped in to look into the case," said Singh.
AK Jadeja DIG CID crime said they are co-ordinating with the police stations of other districts as well. If that too doesn't produce any result we will then be sending the child's details to
other states as well.
