US Tech Solutions (USTS), a New Jersey-based global consulting and IT services company has launched its business social operating system called “Encanvas Secure & Live ES” at Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L).

This is the first time a global consultancy has officially launched its software product suite at a B-school in India. Moreover, the company also plans to run a case study competition and let winners of the contest market the new product.

The institute’s media cell in-charge Gaurav Dikshit says the company has decided to involve IIM-L in launching the software product at other educational institutions in India.

“This would give IIM-L students a great platform to be a part of a business enterprise even before graduating from here,” he said. The launch is considered a rare honour and is, in fact, a precedent across schools where a company plans an official launch at a campus and lets students drive the marketing effort for the product.

The launch saw the presence of the top USTS management, including Ian Tomlin (sales director, and author of Cloud Coffee House and Agilisation), and Dhiraj Adya (V-P, corporate strategy).

“We are looking at IIM-L to provide a creative platform to market our product and innovate,” said Tomlin. When asked why USTS chose IIM-L, Dheeraj said: “It’s the rigour of IIM-L which brought us here.”

USTS is bullish on the chances of success of their social network products in India. “If there is a place to start a new technology in IT, it’s India,” Tomlin said. USTS seemed optimistic about growing Indian business needs. “Business needs secure spaces to share, and we introduce social networking tools in this space,” he said.
