India should "cooperate" if Pakistan is really serious in tackling terrorism, BJP president Rajnath Singh said here today.

"If Pakistan is really serious in fighting terrorism, India should reciprocate," Singh told reporters. "If the attitude of Pakistan is positive on the issue of tackling terrorism, India should cooperate."

Singh was referring to a recent statement by Pakistan's president Asif Ali Zardari. "Whether we like it or not, we are neighbours and we cannot change neighbours," the BJP president said.

Expressing concern at the rising prices of petrol and diesel, Singh said a price mechanism should be set up to keep tabs on fuel prices.

On the controversy over naming the Bandra-Worli Sea Link after former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, the BJP chief said Gandhi's name should not have been dragged into it.

He claimed that the sea link project was initiated by BJP leader Nitin Gadkari when he was Maharashtra's public works minister.
