IED recovered from Jammu-Srinagar National Highway

The improvised explosive device was detected by the road opening party of 12 Rashtriya Rifle troops at Rattanbas area in Banihal.

Security forces today recovered an improvised explosive device (IED) planted by militants on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Ramban district.
           
The IED was detected by the road opening party of 12 Rashtriya Rifle troops at Rattanbas area in Banihal, about 187-km from here, around 0830 hours, police said.
           
Traffic was immediately stop and bomb disposal squad was called on the spot.
           
Traffic remained suspended on the highway from 8.30am to 9am,  they said, adding militants wanted to target the vehicles of security forces and tourists.
