Delhi Police found the mutilated body of a 22-year-old woman at her rented apartment at Madangir in southeast Delhi on Friday. Monica Jaiswal worked with IBM. Police have arrested her boyfriend Ravi Mishra in connection with the murder.

Monica was supposed to marry Ravi on June 14. However, during investigation, police found that Ravi did not want to marry Monica as his parents were unhappy with their relationship. Ravi told the police that he wanted to postpone the marriage till the time his parents would give their consent. Police said they got a call from Monica’s family in the morning. When the police reached Madangir and broke open the door, they found her mutilated body. Monica had sustained injuries on her head and legs, police said.

“Monica and Ravi had a fight two days ago and he killed her using a blunt object. He soon left the house,” additional district commissioner SK Jain said, adding that the cause of death would be ascertained only after the post-mortem report would arrive.
Monica’s family, who live in Kanpur, came to Delhi after they could not get in touch with her. “We got worried and reached Delhi on Friday only to find her dead,” Monica’s father Ravinder Jaiswal said.
