IAF official's body fished out from river Chenab in JK

A body of an IAF officer was today recovered from a reservoir, more than 10 days after a chopper carrying him and three others crashed.

A body of an Indian Air Force officer was today recovered from a reservoir in Doda district, more than 10 days after a chopper carrying him and three others crashed.
 
The decomposed body of the IAF officer, sergeant Deepak Kumar, was fished out by the joint search party of army, police, Air Force and Navy from Baglihar hydroelectric power project reservoir in river Chenab in Trungal-Assar area, 143 kms from here, police officials said.
 
The MI-17 Chopper of IAF carrying four personnel- Wing Commander Rajiv Garg, Flight Lieutenant YS Tomar, Warrant Officer K Singh and Sergeant Deepak- crashed on October 30 in river Chenab.
 
The body of Garg was recovered on the same day, while on November 7 body of Tomar was recovered.
 
Operation to fish out the body of Singh is still on, they said.
 
Seventeen navy divers from New Delhi have been called to assist the police and army in locating the drowned chopper and fish out the last left body.
