Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international general secretary Pravin Togadia will appear on Monday before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing post-Godhra riots cases. "I will appear before the SIT on Monday at 10 o'clock," said Togadia. He alleged that he was being harassed only because he is a Hindu.

However, he did not answer a question about the behaviour of SIT officials. "I will answer after appearing before the SIT," said Togadia. He was speaking to the media on sidelines of function held to felicitate new president of Akhil Bharatiya Sant Sammittee, Avichaldasji Maharaj, on Sunday.

The CBI's move to question top cops of Gujarat and Rajasthan is opposed by Togadia. "The way police officials have been arrested for encounter of a terrorist has demoralised  the police force to such an extent that no police officer in the state will come forward for encounter of a terrorist even if the order comes from the CM or the PM," said Togadia.

Togadia also said that the VHP will create 'Janmat' against harassment of Hindus, through Akhil Bharatiya Sant Sammittee.
Saints representing various castes, communities and sects from Gujarat stressed the need for unity among the Hindu community. The saints asked the society to raise a collective voice against terrorism, anti-social elements, addiction and other maladies.

"The Hindu community is facing a big challenge and it does not seem that any one is there to take care of the Hindus. So raising a collective voice is the need of hour," said Purushottamcharandasji of Swaminarayan sect. He also referred to Naxal attack on Indian army.

Moreover, the saints also urged for protecting cows, Indian culture and values. They feel that a common gaushala should be built in every village. Speaker Ashok Bhatt, ex-minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasma, Daskroi MLA Babu Patel and other political bigwigs attended the function.
