The son of a hardline Hurriyat Conference leader was shot at and critically wounded by suspected militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district this evening.

The attackers barged into the house of Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh, son of Hurriyat hawk Sheikh Ali Mohammad, at Dadasara Tral, 45-kms from here, and sprayed bullets on him, official sources said.

Mushtaq was admitted to a hospital where his condition was stated to be critical, they said.

No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack.
