Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist gets 10 years rigorous imprisonment

A Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist was today sentenced to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment by a fast track court in Ghaziabad for attempting to carry out explosions in the city.

Additional district and sessions Judge Mukesh Singhal while handing out the sentence to Fayaz called him as a "threat to society".

The 21-year-old was arrested on August 12, 2008 by UP anti-terrorist cell near Ghaziabad city railway station with explosives and firearms.

The prosecution said the Srinagar-resident was also wanted in various blast cases in Kashmir.

Delivering the judgment, the judge said that he was awarding the ten-year jail term with the hope that the youth would reform in future.
