Hizbul Mujahideen militant arrested in Srinagar

A Hizbul Mujahideen militant was arrested today in Handwara area of north Kashmir's Kupwara district, a police spokesman said.

Abdul Rashid Beigh alias Javaid Mustafa was arrested on a specific information by a joint search party of police and first para of Army at village Guloora, 85 kms from here, the spokesman said.
    
He said a pistol, one magazine, and eight live cartridges were recovered from the militant.

Hailing from Jahama village of Handwara, the captured militant was wanted by police in several incidents of violence in the frontier district, the spokesman said.
