Heavy rains today lashed the city and its surrounding areas disrupting normal life.
Heavy downpour caused flooding of roads leading to traffic jams at several areas in the city, while some low-lying areas were under deep water, officials said.
Rains also lashed a few places in Punjab and Haryana, a MeT official here said.
Sonepat, Ambala, Karnal and a few other places in Haryana received rains, while Mohali and Patiala in Punjab were also lashed by heavy rains.
The mercury dropped by a few notches as a result of the heavy downpour in the region.
