On Thursday, venturing out of your homes in the afternoon sun may have made you realise - summer's here. Shedding its blanket of winter, the city has seen a rapid rise in mercury levels - with increase of 2 degree Celsius recorded from Sunday.

Sunday's maximum temperature was 29.5 degree Celsius which has reached to 31 degree Celsius on Thursday. However, evenings are still pleasant for the time being. The met department in Ahmedabad says, "On Wednesday, night temperature rose in parts of Saurashtra, Kutch and changed little over rest of the region. The temperature was generally above to appreciably above normal over the region,"

On the other hand, Naliya in Kutch saw lowest temperature in state with -9°C on Thursday. Met department forecasts that weather will be mainly sunny in all districts of Gujarat state, Diu, Daman and Dadranagar Haveli.
