Over 2,000 students to cast votes for 8 seats.

Gujarat University senate (students' representative body) election is going to be held on Sunday. The varsity has made all arrangements and polling will be held at four places in the city.
The senate has 10 seats and the main fight is going to be between BJP's student wing Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Congress's National Student Union of India (NSUI). The election will be held for eight seats only as the representatives of medical and dental faculties have been chosen unanimously.
More than 2000 voters from both city and rural areas will be casting their votes. Polling will start at 10.00am and continue till 5.00pm. According to Gujarat University officials, in science faculty's undergraduate (UG) stream there are 214 voters while in post graduate (PG) the number of the voters is 41.
Similarly, in commerce faculty there are 955 voters for UG and 79 in PG.
