Gujarat land scam: Parmar’s mom moves bail plea

Police have seized the account of Tarulata Parmar, mother of Bipin Parmar, who is an accused in an extortion case pertaining to land.

The police recovered Rs 30 lakh from one of her accounts. Parmar's mother has moved an anticipatory bail application before the sessions court.

Arguing for the bail, her advocate said that she is innocent and too old to get involved in such business matters.

However, objecting to the bail application PM Trivedi, public prosecutor said that she was one of the complainants in a suit filed by Parmar against the builder and farmer to claim ownership of their land.

Trivedi argued that even though she is uneducated there are several accounts in her name including a pension account and bank lockers.

Trivedi further said that Parmar deposited the money he extorted from builders in the name of his mother, wife and children and the police need to gather more information about the same.

Moreover, ever since Parmar's arrest everyone in the family has gone absconding.

The court after argument has reserved the case for order on February 17.
