This may seem like a government programme and the entire state government machinery may be busy managing state wide celebration of Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary. But, the event is likely to be useful for BJP’s youth wing Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha (BJYM).

According to state government plans, chief minister Narendra Modi is going to kick-start year-long celebrations of Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary on January 12 at Mahatma Mandir.

He will address a large gathering of college-going youngsters at the venue. Like Sadbhavna fast in each district, he is also likely to make an announcement of organising one-day youth meet in all the districts of the state. These events at district level are believed to be pre-election campaigns for BJP’s youth brigade.

BJYM sources have confirmed the development and they are planning for the mega event. “BJYM has not been given any specific responsibility for the January 12 event, but we will be working in full force at the district-level programmes that the state government will organise,” said sources on condition of anonymity.

The sources added, “ We will invite young people from all the classes of society, from farmers to businessmen.”
