The next time you visit Nalsarovar, you will find it cleaner and practically plastic free. Taking this eco-friendly initiative, are Manav Sewa Trust of Sanand, forest department and TATA Nano. They have joined hands to make this scenic site clean and 'green'.

At the inaugural event held on Sunday, popular actor Naresh Kanodia himself picked up plastic waste and said, “This location deserves to be clean and free from pollution and plastic waste. It is important that residents and visitors understand this and help in this initiative.”

Speaking about the changes being brought about, Manu Barot of Manav Sewa Trust said, “From now on, all the boats of Nalsarovar will have dustbins and also 40 dustbins have been placed outside the water body so that the visitors can throw waste in the bins.”

Barot said the tourist spot gets more visitors on weekends. “Hence, we have decided that eight volunteers should clean the place every Monday. Forest department will collect the waste, empty it into a tractor and take it to a dump site.”
