Government to rehabilitate youth gone to PoK for terror training: Omar

Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah today said the government was resolved to rehabilitate those youths who have gone to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) for arms training and were living in miserable conditions there.
  
"Government has taken firm stand on the rehabilitation of those youth who have crossed Line of Control and are living in a miserable condition in Muzaffarabad and Mirpur in PoK", Omar said after inaugurating Rs31 crore Rangil Water Supply Scheme at Palpora here today.
  
"Our government succeeded in convincing central government for their rehabilitation", he added.
   
He said the government was committed to regain the trust of the people and referred to the handing over of BSF commandant RK Birdi to police in connection with the killing of 16-year-old Zahid Farooq allegedly by security forces in Brein-Nishat on February 5.
   
"During the last 21 years there is not a single example when any agency of the security forces has handed over its officer to our police for further investigation as has been done in this", the chief minister said.
    
About the water scheme, he said it will provide drinking water to maximum areas of Srinagar city.
    
He announced Rs40 lakh for drainage system from Shalteng to Maloora system in Palpora and its adjoining areas. "Besides, 300 plots shall be developed for the displaced families coming under road-widening work from Chatabal to Parimpora", he said.
    
The chief minister said a large number of educated youth are unemployed and as the government along cannot provide employment to all, it was necessary to create jobs in the private sector also.
