Goa police tightens security at places surveyed by Headley

Sources said Headley had a conducted recce of beaches like Anjuna and Arambol, frequented by Israeli tourists.

Goa police has increased security around installations which were reportedly surveyed by terror suspect David Headley during his visit to the state in the wake of the Pune blasts, a senior police official said.

Superintendent of police (security) Tony Fernandes said security at vital installations, including defence bases, have been increased after the blast.

Senior police officials confirmed that Central Intelligence Agencies have submitted a list of places surveyed by Headley during his Goa visit.

Sources said Headley had a conducted recce of beaches like Anjuna and Arambol, frequented by Israeli tourists. 

Fernandes, however, refused to divulge about the places named by the Central agency. 

He said dams, oil storage tanks, and places of worship are under round the clock surveillance.
