Girl dies in accident in Burdwan, locals block road

The police said Sharmila Khatun (13) died on the spot and her sister Seema Khatun was admitted to Burdwan Medical College and Hospital in a serious condition.

One school girl was killed and her sister seriously injured while going to school today when their bicycle was hit by a loaded truck at Dhamaspur near Raina in Burdwan district.

The police said Sharmila Khatun (13) died on the spot and her sister Seema Khatun was admitted to Burdwan Medical College and Hospital in a serious condition. Sharmila was a class VIII of Barabalaram Rashbehari High School.

Angry locals blocked the road for an hour and ransacked the truck. The police seized the vehicle but the driver absconded.
