Girl commits suicide over eve-teasing in UP; police suspects murder

Apparently upset over eve teasing, a teenage girl allegedly set herself ablaze here, but police suspect it to be a case of murder.
     
The burnt body of 15-year-old Priya, a high-school student, was discovered yesterday by her parents when they returned home, circle officer Prashant Kumar said today.
     
"The family members of the girl have alleged that Priya committed suicide as she was upset over eve teasing by a boy in the neighbourhood," he said.
     
However, he said, the police suspect it to be a case of murder as they have recovered love letters from the girl's room and a note in which she has accepted that she was in love with a boy which her mother did not like.
