German national held, deported for aiding anti-nuke protests

Hermann was brought last night for interrogation and was deported from the country from the the international air terminus at around 1am.

A German national was picked up by Tamil Nadu Police in Nagercoil for allegedly assisting the protests against the Koodankulam Nuclear Power Plant and deported from the country in the wee hours on Tuesday.

Sonnteg Reiner Hermann (49) was picked up last night in Nagercoil by a section of Q branch police officials monitoring the anti-KNPP protests after they were alerted by central intelligence agencies, police sources said.

Hermann was brought last night for interrogation and was deported from the country from the the international air terminus here at around 1am, they said.
