Four involved in burglaries at religious places held

Four gang members, involved in series of burglaries in places of worship including temples and churches in this district in 2008 and 2009 were arrested today.

Talking to reporters here, SP Senthilkumar said a special team led by Inspectors Krishnan and Francis, arrested Vellaichamy, 42, Badhrakalimuthu, 32, Selvakumar, 32 and Suresh, 29, and 31.5 sovereigns of gold, 11kg silver, two bronze  idols, 3kg bronze pooja articles and four two-wheelers were seized from them.

The gang members, who were involved in 19 burglary cases, executed burglaries only in temples and churces, he said.
