Four arrested in murder case in Kanpur

The suspects include a milkman, who had visited the house just before the incident took place, his employer, a gardener's son and a rickshaw puller, police said.

Four persons were today arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder case where three women of a family were killed by unidentified persons in Kidwai Nagar area here, police said.
   
The suspects include a milkman, who had visited the house just before the incident took place, his employer, a gardener's son and a rickshaw puller, police said.

Imarti Devi (85), her daughter-in-law Pushpa Agarwal (58) and 25-year-old daughter Ruchi were killed on Tuesday by assailants who slit their throats with a sharp weapon, they said.

The motive of the crime is not clear yet as the cash and valuables were intact, police said without ruling out the possibility of an insider's involvement.

The family runs several businesses.

President of Kanpur Trade Association Pramod Kumar Jaiswal said a meeting of trade associations across the city has been called tomorrow to discuss the issue.
