Emirates flight returns to ground due to engine snag in Thiruvananthapuram

A Dubai-bound Emirates flight with 278 passengers, including former Union minister Shashi Tharoor and his wife Sunanda Pushkar, returned soon after its take off from the international airport here this morning following a technical error, airport sources said.

Airline sources said the aircraft A 330-220 developed some problems in its hydraulic system and returned 40 minutes after its take off.

Another aircraft was being brought from Dubai and it would leave this afternoon.

The passengers were accommodated in hotels.
