Five charred to death in a fire mishap in Karnataka

Five persons, including a couple, were charred to death in a fire occurred at a three-storey building at Athani, about 130km away from Belgaum.

Police said the fire, that broke out in the ground floor, which housed the textile showroom, spread to other floors where the owner, his wife and three workers were residing.

Fire tenders put out the fire, police said.

Those dead are identified as Mruthyunjaya D Hiremath, his wife Lakshmi, Chennabasavaiah, Girish and Ajit.
