A group of people reportedly fired in the air in front of a house in Rajkot late on Friday night and damaged vehicles parked there. The possession of the house on Raiya Road, where the incident took place, is believed to be the cause of the incident.

Jiva Kuwadia, a resident of Mohan Nagar, Raiya Road, stated in his complaint, filed at Gandhigram police station that one Imran and 13 others came to his house at around midnight and asked him to vacate his house.

"They threatened me of dire consequences and fired eight to 10 bullets in air to frighten us. They also smashed window glasses of our car and damaged other vehicles," Kuwadia added.

Police said that Kuwadi, who hails from Jangwad village of Jasdan taluka in Rajkot district, had recently bought the house in Rajkot from one Nikhil Pujara. He had moved into his new house just a week ago. However, he has not obtained required documents of the property.

Police suspect that the house has been resold to Imran for Rs45 lakh and that he may have gone there to take possession of it.

Further investigation is on in the case.
